Jag skriver till min farmor, mormor och morfar i Sverige och till farfar i himlen. Och till mina föräldrars syskon. Och till andra som vill se och läsa.

On the other hand...

... in my Manila life, I never got to feed sheep.

Neither with dad. Nor with mom. My access to heavy duty lawn mowers was extremely limited. As well as my access to real farm mashinery. I barely knew what was implied with expressions such as fresh air, open spaces and green grass. And places where the grown-ups would let me roam around with only little supervision. (But this picutre is not really representative of that, as I 1. have mom on my tail and 2. will be told to be careful a few seconds from when the pic it's taken, as I'm approaching the electrical fence at a high pace.)My stroller in Manila was by no means as cool as the one I have here, and besides, we rarely went out for walks there anyway. It was a lot less fun to bake in the Manila than in Grandma's kitchen. There it always tended to get way too hot. Plus Vättern runt is never ever biked in Manila, and Vättern runt implies getting to meet both Nicke and Kia. My car seat in Manila was a boring greyish blue. Here I can cure my jetlag in a kite orange dito. And finally, mom seems to have aquired a body that is much more fun to watch since we got here. And it gets funnier by the day!You win some you lose some. On balance, I think this move will definitely weigh more heavily on the positive side.

Some other things that are unlikely to be part of my new life

Aircons. Gymboree.
Or maybe that will remain the same, as I have a lifetime world-wide membership. But if Gymboree is not present in Warzaw, honestly, it won't make all that much of a difference in my life anyway: I haven't been a very frequent participant . Going to the photographer, just for fun.Especially photographers where you're likely to meet cute puppies and you get to cuddle them. Here, Erin and I choose to disregard that the puppy was not ours. We figured the owner had two or three others that looked just like it, and thus, would not mind if we took just one single one.Getting to wear shorts year round.

And playing in foutains that work year round as well.

Plus many many many other things. I will miss Manila!

Last days as a frequent restaurant goer

Mom and dad say that life is about to change from a dine out perspective. For one, they claim that there will be no more brunches at places where the chairs are comfortably over-sized and velvety. And where there are matching stools for the ladies to put their purses on and live jazz bands to entertain the guests with live easy-to-listen-to-music.They say, that if those places even exist, it should not be taken for granted that people my age are greeted with open arms and extra special treatments. Free of charge and with huge smiles to go with it.Personally, I think they are just being frugal and feel that I've had enough starched napkins and table cloths to last me for a childhood.
